Ellen Papazian is available for writing assignments and
editing projects. She has worked for more than a decade as an editor and
writer for numerous national print and online
media, including Bitch, Ms., Hip Mama, and Feminist Review.
Ellen wrote the Page Turner book blog for Bitch magazine. Her nonfiction writing has appeared in Bitch, Ms., Hip Mama, Feminist Review, and in the anthology About Face: Women Write about What They See When They Look in the Mirror (Seal Press, 2008).
From 2000 to 2009, she was senior editor of Sex, Etc., the
teen-written national magazine and website on sexual health,
published by Answer, at Rutgers University, a leading national
organization dedicated to providing and promoting comprehensive
sexuality education in the United States.
As senior editor, Ellen performed the final edit on all content for
the magazine and website, which gets 20,000 unique visitors per
day, and oversaw Sex, Etc.’s content partnerships with MTV’s
Think: Sexual Health campaign and other youth-media outlets. The Sex, Etc. website is a Webby Awards Official Honoree. It has been featured on This American Life.
Prior to joining Answer, Ellen spent three years as associate managing
editor of Ms. magazine,
where she also wrote feature articles,
including a cover story on artist Ani DiFranco.
